I just got into UVa and Echols!

For those that have received the email, what's the status of your application online? Does it read 'Accepted' yet?

nope it doesnt for me.............

Congrats to all the accepted UVaers and Echols Schols. standing ovation That's a way big deal, y'all, as I'm sure you already know ;). You should definitely be really proud of yourselves. Pats on the backs all around!

Haven't checked the thingie online, but I didn't get a call, and no letter yet, just the email. Probably get the letter tomorrow, takes a day to get up here.

After a miserable day at school yesterday and no small amount of venting at home, d checked her email and morphed into the happiest kid on the planet. She loves UVA but never thought she'd be a candidate for Echols - she dismissed what I told her I'd read on the boards and didn't want to get her hopes up.

My d got the likely letter a few weeks ago, but no phone call. Stats: 1510/800/790/790; school doesn't rank but she's supposedly top 1% according to her GC; NMF; strong but not spectacular ECs. She really worked the essays and I thought they were very good. She's planning to attend Echols day.

I got my likely letter today (international mail...) and just got admitted as well. Yay! A great day for me :)

...I hope this isn't a hoax, 'cos my mum was really pleased. She hopped around my room for a while - she didn't even do this for UCLA.

Oh, and 1500 can't be the cutoff because I got a 1440 on my SAT I.

There is no SAT cutoff for Echols, and it certainly couldn't be 1500. The average score for Echols scholars is in the 1470-1480 range.

did you have to apply for this separately or do they consider every application?

Did any students that were accepted ED find out that they got into the echols scholars program?????????????? or was it just for the RD?

i just got my email...sickkk..

is everyone gonna go to the day on the lawn?

Don't think I'm going to day on the lawn...a bit far

You don't have to apply for Echols, they just choose you.

Conaln:
Was your email also dated 03-15 at 3:11pm?

if they sent out more emails today, is there anyone out, like me, with their fingers crossed about receiving one tommorrow?

nkay: "...I hope this isn't a hoax, 'cos my mum was really pleased. She hopped around my room for a while - she didn't even do this for UCLA."

My mom doesn't get excited over any of my acceptances lol, "oh that's cool"

yes indeed

legendofmax- my dad doesn't, either. he kind of just went, "good." when I told him about UCLA. Hopefully I'll get in to UVA and he'll show a little more enthusiasm.

My mom didn't say anything. Not even good, or cool. She was just like "ok." klajfkdlj

ouch. aren't parents fun? (no offense to those parents concerned enough to be on CC)

mom started jumping and hiperventilating....
