I just got my semester grades and I was definitely surprised- I received a B in AP Psychology... I had a 94.6% and a 91.6% for the two quarters, which means I would need a 75.1% on the final. I received a 76.6% on the final, definitely close there but it's black and white that I deserve the A and that no rounding up is involved. But instead, I got a B. I emailed my teacher to talk to him about it on Monday, not sure what to do at this point and I'm not even sure if semester grades can be changed now.

I understand that one B won’t kill me, but why settle for less when I know that I do not deserve it? I find it ironic that this happened because he gave a speech in class about “help me help you” and how he will help us until he gets fired.

I just hope at this point it is possible to change semester grades. Anyone know anything about that?

teachers can change grades even after you graduate. If there’s a discrepancy, it’s never too late but try to fix it before your grades get sent to colleges

according to my calculations, if a 90% = an A, and quarters are worth twice as much as the midterm (the case in my school), you would have needed a 77.6% to get an A.

I assume he does since he gave us a speech about how “he will help us with our grades until he gets fired”. He is a nice guy and kind of out of it when it comes to things such as technology and math, sort of in his own world. Hopefully it is just a misunderstanding that we can resolve.

Either he’s a tech klutz like you said, or he just simply doesn’t round.

And he’s probably pretty disappointed about your final grade. It’s obvious that you didn’t take his class seriously and just winged it (I’m guilty of that myself).

Hmmm. Weird. At my school, all grades are flat. If you have two A’s, any percentage, you can get as low as a C, any percentage, and get a semester A. We determine semester grades with this little chart rather than with math. Percentages mattering. I never thought of such a thing.
