Firstly, I am an international student who applies to Penn(Liberal Arts College) through RD, and needs Financial Aid..

According to the alumni who interviewed me yesterday, Penn had finished all the interview in my area(I am from China) by early March. She said I was a special case. AO contacted her rather late ,asked her to interview me, and submitted the report by Sunday.

Yesterday, I had my interview. It went pretty good. The interviewer believed that I really fit Penn and was a truly special and talented applicant..

It's a strange interview. The interviewer prepared nearly 20 questions, and wrote my reply in about 7-8pages...I have never had an interview like this before.

So what does this interview mean? I am a border-line applicant?

I’d definitely say yes. Most interviewers jot down a few notes, but Penn really must’ve been on the fence if they’d want such detailed responses to so many questions. Or maybe that’s just her style.

Well, I guess we can assume that you weren’t under-qualified if they didn’t just dismiss the fact that you had never been interviewed, especially this close to the decision date. Then again, please don’t kill yourself wondering! I’m sure that your decision wouldn’t hinge on how well your interview went, although I’m glad to hear that it went well. My interviewer gave me the impression that they don’t really receive much direction from the school as to how to perform the interviews but mine took extensive notes as well; like, he transcribed literally everything that I said, which made for a lot of awkward silences… blah. Anyways, I wish you luck on the 31st. :)
