I just killed myself

There weren't any grammar mistakes in my essay...but there was a subj-verb agreement error in the TITLE!!!!

O no, am I dead? (Note: I already sent in the apps)

AH! I want to KILL MYSELF...do u think i just killed my chances? I am desperate.

lmao, nah doubt itll hurt you that much

what is the school you are applying to

HYP and stanford and some match/safety schools, but all the same version of the essay.

ooo... that might hurt then... small grammar mistakes might show to some of the top names...

don't listen to these ppl, i had one blatant error, where i had it "each each" and didn't recognize it b/c one each was at teh end of the first line and the second one came at the beginning of the second sentence. No one caught this, i had it edited by others. It didn't hurt me at all.

Is a title expected on the essays? If so... **** :</p>

I don't put any on mine...

may lord be with you....

well, what was the title? sometimes it's okay to be unconventional in titles

for no title? Most essays aren't novels, I don't think there needs to be a title, especially for essays 500 words or less.

It shouldn't hurt that much, I wouldn't worry about it. After all, you have already submitted it.

title ain't necessary

Unless it is blatenly obvious, like "he are going to the store" I don't think it is going to matter.

Well, I am sorry to bring this info, but I was reading an article written by a member of an admissions commitee for U of Penn. HE mentioned an essay that said "I am interested in Berkley because..." (The school applicant was applying for was U of Penn!!!) He threw it away immediately because of the mistake. Though, your mistake and the applicant's mistake varies signifiantly.

I don't know. If it was in the essay, fine, but the title just gives off a bad impression.

Then again, it may have been minor. What was the exact error?

mich: One of the MIT adcom members, Brian Nance, had this to say about that: "Do not copy and paste admissions essays. If we read '... and that's why Harvard is my dream school' WE'LL TRY OUR HARDEST TO MAKE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE."

;)

Dreams comes...that was the error -___- am i screwed?

I want to cough up blood...."dreams comes". Will HYP kick me out just b/c that?

I'd say no. they might even take it as an intentional title? Dunno... just an optimistic suggetsion...
