I just realized a horrible mistake!

I checked my SAT II: Physics admission ticket today and just found out that I registered for the wrong test center which is my school and 200 hundred miles away. There is no way that i am going to get there to take the test at 8 tomorrow morning.

I should have registered for the test center near my home.

I just called the collegeboard and the customer service told me that I would still be ok to take the test at the test center I want if I can arrive there early around 7:15.

I am still not very sure about this. Am I totally screwed?

No, but you do have to pay a certain fee.

Just show up with your ID, pencils, and a credit card.

you'll be taking it as a standby at the test center near your home. theres nothing unusual about it, many people do it.

my school's also far from my home, so im taking the sat II's at my local public high school.

Like the other said, you can change your test center on test day. Since you've already registered and paid, you have priority over standby test takers. You'll get a bill for the test-center-change fee in the mail.

Was the center near your home one of ones you tried to register at? If so, sometimes if your top two choice centers are closed, CB automatically assigns you a test center remotely close to you. If, however, you go and test at the your closer center tomorrow (if you test at one of your orignial two choices), they will waive the center change fee. When you get the bill, just call them and ask them to cancel the fee.

I'm pretty sure you can take it nearby. But if you happen to take the test standby it is not going to be a pleasant experience. The test for standby takers start really late. So your exam will end at 2 or later.

Woah.. I've never heard of standby testtakers taking the test late. I took some SAT II's last year as a test center change and I took the test the same time as everyone else. Once they shut the doors to the testing rooms and determined there was extra seats, they let the center-changing and standby testtakers claim them and start filling out the answer sheet like everyone else.

june is generally a small crowd. everyone is out on break

well I took some SAT2s standby in May. We started at like 9 something. By the time our second subject ended, the regular testers were finished with their third test and about to leave.
