I just realized...

I've never "studied". Like away from school for a big test. Even with IB exams coming up and I'm like "eh, I either know it by now or I don't". I've done fine so far by this lack of method but I'm thinking that since I'm going to a hard school I should know more about studying.

Like, what do you do? Just read the book? Study notes? Once I write something down I kinda remember it instantly so...? Write notes over and over?

I mean, the only "study group" I ever went on was a trip to Dave n Busters with friends (and some freaks actually brought books, which we nearly lost). I'm told as an engineering major I'll probably be doing study groups a lot so what's that like studying with others. Does everyone just...read?

I think I could study math and physics, just do problem sets and practices till I know for sure I have the method down and understood completely. I could do that in a group if there's a white board (since that's basically what we do in math class now).

I found a trick to help memorizing (5 Ways To Hack Your Brain Into Awesomeness | Cracked.com) by just reading my theater lines before going to sleep and I'd be able to remember them clearer in the day.

I’ve never studied either. To be honest, I remember everything to such a depth that I have no need to read anything. I can bs most things and still be smarter than my class. If this proceeds in college, I’ll be astonished.

I’M SO JEALOUS! I so wish that I had the ability to absorb information quickly…

Braggarts. :P

I’m actually much the same, except for history – I’m horrible at history. Before a test, I’ll glance over my notes once halfheartedly, and score 105.

I self-study bio, because I love it. I can read one chapter of Campbell once, and remember about 90-95% of it. It’s quite wonderful. :)

“I’m actually much the same, except for history – I’m horrible at history. Before a test, I’ll glance over my notes once halfheartedly, and score 105.”

I DO THE SAME but not always as high scores. But I hate history. It’s just those damn examples I need to prove my thesis or some name I forgot and I’m so bored in that class I can never pay attention. I wish things were multiple choose like in…9th grade. But I don’t need to take history at ALL for my school/major. I specifically asked multiple times and they all said “no, but you need a culture class which is usually what students take history for” but I can just take spanish (which I speak, or just might get the IB credit for) instead (which I asked if I could and they were like “YEAH that too!”)

SO BOOYAH! SUCK IT HISTORY!

lol I am actually fairly well rounded in all my subjects, regardless of my school choices. Technically, I am outstanding in all of them, and among the best, which is weird. History is so easy. What IB Exams are you taking? I take 2 next year, maybe 3.

My school doesn’t offer IB, only AP. I’m taking AP Chem (which I have an A+ in), AP Music (also an A+), and AP US History (85…).

5 APs for me next (senior) year.

Okay superman. I’m taking Math SL, History HL, Enlish HL, Spanish HL. I think I’ll pass 'em all including history just because god seems to enjoy making me pass history out of the irony at my hate. Like, I passed the world history AP and disliked it so much. And then my smug history teacher can brag about making one of his most unwilling students pass when it was all just luck.

I don’t care though, like, I just can’t care about the diploma when I’m already gonna be at college when I find out about it. And my college won’t even take them likely and I don’t even think I care about getting out of 'em anyway. Like, my math and physics, I want to take the intros because I want to be at the same level as everyone instead of ending up at the intense sophomore physics 2 and 3D calc everyone at the college was complaining about. And my only english requirement there is so very easy that I get to sign up for a comic book class! Spanish would just boost my GPA. I can’t get out of chem or bio, the only one’s I’d care to get out of, since my school doesn’t offer advanced classes for those.

I’ve never met anyone great at all subjects. Like, truly great. I think for me it entirely depends on my interest. I can’t just learn something without putting in some effort.

My thoughts exactly on the diploma. Except I start with 5 HLs next year, then up to 6 HLs senior year. They won’t know I’m a diploma candidate. I was just brought up to know many details. I guess a good memory helps, and a good upbringing.
