I understand from the Admissions Office that you have expressed an interest in the College of Arts and Science. I invite you to be in touch with me, as you consider your options over the next few weeks, if you have questions about your academic plans.

NYU is remarkable for its combination of academic rigor and the quality of student life. Undergraduate research and faculty mentoring are two defining characteristics of the college experience here. I hope that you will also come to appreciate both our academic strengths and the strong connection we have as faculty with our students.

You can find links to information about majors, minors, and honors programs in the College at NYU > A & S > Majors and Minors. More than this, I hope that you wont hesitate to write back to me with any specific questions you may have--Ill be glad to answer you by e-mail or set up a time for us to speak by telephone. Just let me have your contact information and, if you want me to call you, tell me the best time.

Should you have questions about Admissions, you can visit their website at NYU > Undergraduate Admissions, or call them at 212-998-4500 and ask to speak to a member of the CAS team. You can reach the Financial Aid Office at 212-998-4444 or via the Admissions website.

Thank you for your interest in NYU. Again, if you have questions or concerns about our academic programs, I would be very glad to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Pat Hoy

Yeah I got one as well from the Physics department. I dont see how they'd send this to everyone. Then again I could be wrong...I think I'll just

I changed my major from bio to journalism during the reviewing process (confirmed it was journalism a few days before I got my invitation in the mail)

yet I didn't receive that email - the last email I received was an RSVP confirmation for one of the admitted-students events (after I RSVP'd); I'm a domestic student, too.

No, but there are people who were accepted who never got that email and also people that got accepted and received that email. There's no telling what it is...

Yeah I suppose so although that could be said of any likely letter you know. I see no reason why they'd send an email like that to rejected students especially after all the decisions have been made. Although as we all know colleges do weird weird things sometimes!! :P

My friend has just asked the admission office and it says this means that you are accepted and will get the formal admission in a day or two. Congratulations to the people who get the email.

My friend asks the director whether the email means acceptance. And the director replies yes and says that he will receive the formal acceptance in a day or two

I'm a freshman too...@zzx - Hope you're right...I can relax then...Atleast I am going to college even if it isnt first choice!! I mean I could do a lot worse than go to NYU even if I get 7 more rejections...So if you're messing with me and I get rejected I might dunk my head in dog poop..! hehe

If you don't receive the card that says "Congrats you're in" then you aren't in the school. The letter doesn't say anything about acceptances but the card invites all accepted students to the reception.

I have only received two postcards congratulating me on my acceptance to the College of Arts and Sciences and inviting me to the admitted students reception(s). I haven't received any e-mails from NYU either.
