i just start homeschooling...

hey guyz. my mom thinks my high school is not suitable for me any more.we talked about this for a while and at last she took me out of it and let me study at home.: ) i'm pretty exciting about this new life.cuz what i think is ,i can sleep more,i used to sleep like 5hours everyday. and hmm now i could bring up to 8 hours which makes me happy.i usually study all day at library or just at home .i learned a lot! really. i don't really want a tutor cuz my parents are both well-educated i mean graduated from really good colleges. but they have to work a lot.i usually study by my own i can catch my level and focus more on my weakness. even when i was in the school,i don't get ANYTHING from class. it's pretty pointless to go to high school (work part) except friends and activities.i used like 5 hours eveday doing some freaking meaningless homework i learned absolutely NOTHING from these homework and caring about grades all the time.
i learned everything by myself i get used to this . i have 5 APs this year.i'm a sophmore.i'm still going to take the tests in May. i love to solve questions by going to library and searching the answers in the book.it's a interesting process.
well.. i'm kind of lost right now.cuz iv never homeschooled b4.so do i need to go to some ccs to take classes? what about the activities i was doing before? do i still have to continue them? where can i do? i heard some homeschool orgnization, but i can hardly find any...i need to know how the colleges treat us homeschoolers blah blah ``` if there'r any advices would be appreciated :]]]
has anyone homeschooled before?or do u guys have any friends doing that?

I have some close friends who are homeschooled. You could take some online courses or something like that, I guess, but working completely by yourself isn't going to work, I think.

A few people who are homeschooled come to my school for band. They seem pretty cool.

I'd die from boredom.

There are several opportunities opened up to you now, I would presume. Seek to take advantage of them; I am sure you already are. Can homeschoolers take any course they want, as long as it is in progression?

That is all cool. But do you not think that posting this in the home school area of this site would ward off trolls and whatnot?

BORING. Why would you wanna stay home with your mom all day? Some of my best memories are from high school, and I'm only a junior. I guess you couldn't handle the fact your bf dumped you. You couldn't handle the workload. You quit high school bc you couldnt handle it.

Ah, victim of stereotypes.

Anyways, good luck with the homeschooling. Its definitely more free and genuine then public schooling. As for activites, this is most important, infact, you can probably get involved moreso then if you were in school. I've heard of homeschoolers joining high school clubs. There's also community activities you can join, and there's always other types of clubs that are not exclusively for kids, but for all ages.

Not to mention, you can consider taking community college courses.

And joining clubs at the Community Colleges also.

There are lots of nice things that the homeschoolers can get into.

that's possible merlinjones? So if a college has a debate club I can join it? I'm not a homeschooler (I wish!) but our school doesn't have debate, it would be nice to join one in a local college though.

That quote's funny cause that's what hapenning to me, except I go to a public school.

ok,so g-u-not,u can just call me a loser. well,seems everybody here calls homeschooler=loser . and i AM a loser,i'm a totally fugly loser.
i think the reason i want to switch schools is beacuse it would be a step up for me to clear my head and see what it is like at homeschool beacuse high school, it just isnt working for me, i dont wake up looking forward to t he day whatso ever i even sleep in later and thats not like me. insist on getting up and trying to look good, but theres no one to look good for.and i mean im not saying that i have to be in a realtionship to be myself, im not saying that at all. i just have stand on my own two feet for awahile, and look forward to do everything for my future.
AND ! that's just 10% percent of why i get out of high school. most of it is because it's pointless to go to high school everyday spending like 7-3pm and then doing homework after that. there's no room for me to think about myself.and doing some ecs i don't really involved. it's just the most craziest idea i made to homeschool.i say not everyone suits homeschooling but so far i think i like it.and people have to get used to loneliness.. i know this sounds crazy about homeschooling and thanks god my mom is supporting me a lot;)
i don't think this will be boring at all.as in i can still hang out with my best friends we are already a group.like forever .i'm so happy i have them. and i get chance to meet new people also ,like u said in colleges and clubs . heard about some homeschool kids have their orgnizations also.
PLUS G-U-NOT, i can't handle me bf dumped me.maybe i think it's a little bit true.i just ended up a long committed realtionship.and it's not him dumped me it's not like he's cheating on me or he doesn't love me anymore. u don't know the whole situation so please don't say so. : ) the workload ,yeah. and i think your half right too. lol. it's not that i can handle this anymore. well, can i make you making candysheets everyday like 24/7 and can u do that? yes of course you can .but what u learn from that? i don't think i got educated from public high school.i don't learn anything at all. maybe it's just not working for ME (it's good that u think it works for u). and i love my friends the most part i go to high school just cuz of them.
that's pretty sux that i don't get into the life of high school like everyone else thinks this is the most sweetiest part of their whole life. : ) i'm really happy for y'all who liked high school a lot.

tommeister :thanks i will take a look at them;]
Jonathan1 : yes that is cool.lol see i'll talk to my school and see if they let me get back in the clubs.and i was in the jv softball.it's pretty ok for me keep playing it or what. and i think college is looking for the best of YOU .not how important role ur ecs r playing.

ChaosTheory : yeah,i'm sure they can.as long as u finish the basicment of like other high schoolers (ex. algebra geometry world his....)

A-san :yeah, that's what i'm worried about .loll, what activities should i do? i'm so excited about everything new to me and agh i just can't wait :))

I would be excited, too. Can you build your own schedule?
I would have several 90 minute classes, such as

Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, BC Calculus
Physics, Biology, Chemistry
English, World History, Astronomy

And throw in about 30 clubs and you are good to go. Awesome!! :D

quote That is all cool. But do you not think that posting this in the home school area of this site would ward off trolls and whatnot?

loool i think it's cool idea. they are ok,most of people are nice .and people not always have the same ideas about homeschooling esp. it's not very common thing. yeah, most of them thinks it's boring but try to look at the good part of it. :)))) i wanna hear what people thinks of it.
