I just started researching and I have a few questions..

I have a 3.8 unweighted and a 3.9 weighted gpa. I took ap us history last year and this year I am taking ap psychology and ap calculus ab. I scored a 1890 on the sat, but I am retaking them because I feel like I can do better. I just started researching and I have found some schools that sound good, but I don't really know if they are realistic. The ones i really like are Grinnell College, Bates College, and Colorado College. Are these good aims?

And also, how much do schools look at extra curriculars? I have great ones, I am working on my girl scout gold award, I volunteer at the hospital and am president of international club, but how much will this help me?

And one more....Do colleges look at weighted or unweighted gpas?

Thanks!

Those colleges you mentioned seem good. Although you really should be taking more honors classes. College look at both weighted and unweighted. More importantly, they look at rank in order to compare you to other students at your school. By doing that, they are also trying to see if you are fully taking advantage of the hardest work load at your school. Adcoms want students who are willing to challenge themselves academically and do well too.

Usually, privates schools look more at ECs. If you have good ECs, it should help.
