I just submitted my Common Apps, BUT....

Hey, I have no idea how this even happened, this semester has been ridiculous to me (Engineering 101, Physics, Calculus, Chemistry, and Anthropology all at the same time I have no idea who I even am anymore god damnit), but I just barely submitted my common application to Stanford, U Penn, and Cornell. I know, I KNOW I should've submitted it like 5 days before the deadline AT LEAST, but I really haven't had time.

I spent too long making sure my essays were perfect. I thought if I submitted by midnight tonight I would be fine. However, the date that reads on the website for "submission date" is 3/16/2010. Even though I submitted it before 9:00pm. Do they all go off EST or something?

So basically, all three read 3/16/2010. One day after the submission deadline. It still let me submit it, though. So....What do you think of this? My application will still be considered, correct? I already sent my recommendations/transcripts/fee waiver/secondary about 3 weeks ago, so they should already have that stuff.

Please don't tell me they are super strict on this stuff.

Thanks
-SB

Some colleges are that strict, some aren’t.

Why did you take so long?

Mine did the same thing.
Stanford’s site says that the deadline is based on Pacific time. I’m assuming that they’ll see the time stamp (10 pm Central aka 8pm Pacific). And with Cornell I submitted mine at about the same time so it was 11 Eastern…The confirmation e-mail I got from Common App though says everything was submitted on the 15th.

Yeah ok… if you go to Common App and see where it lists the colleges you’ve submitted to, there’s the little hyperlink that says “3/16/10.” Click on it and it takes you to the .pdf version of your application and at the bottom (at least for mine) it actually says “3/15/10”

Stanford doesn’t care. They won’t start evaluating Transfer applications until mid-April anyway. At the moment, their credentials department team is categorizing compiling the hundreds of applications received and when they finally begin reading and evaluation, the last thing they’ll look at is the date submitted.

Ya I’m alright, turns out I received my Penn + Cornell “successful submission” and portal passwords today, so I’m fine :D

so happy to say that lol
