Penn State

Thanks in advance!

you definitley have a very solid chance of getting into stanford EA. unfortunaley stanford is a crap shoot for anyone.

also you are DEFINETLEY qualified for all the other schools on ur list

Great (over 50%) chances at all your "reaches" :)

you have very good ecs and excellent academics. coincidentally your sats are almost same as mine (you beat me by 10 points in cr n writing). You have a very good chance at stanford, though we will only find out that fpr sure in mid december.

I am applying to stanford too, RD, though I dont have as stellar ECs as you do. Hope you get in, and really hope I see you there too!

reach for all. Ping-pong really does it.

Stanford EA - crapshoot
Yale - crapshoot
Princeton - crapshoot
UPenn - high match
Johns Hopkins - match
Boston College - match
Columbia - high match
Northwestern - match
Penn State - safety

Chance me also? :) <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/585943-art-chance-let-s-see-artistic-prowess-chance-me-rice-others.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/585943-art-chance-let-s-see-artistic-prowess-chance-me-rice-others.html</a></p>

I incorporated your scores, GPA, leadership, and extracurriculars into a systematically devised function of calculatory means that I developed to precisely calculate percent chance of admission to various universities in the US and abroad. The results are as follows (these are the percent chances that you will be accepted at the below named institutions of higher educatory education):

Stanford EA - 11.399%
Yale - 9.103%
Princeton - 9.810%
UPenn - 38.562%
Johns Hopkins - 31.772%
Boston College - 75.530%
Columbia - 35.002%
Northwestern - 74.686%
Penn State - 92.300%

Please note that these are only derived from my own personal formula which seems to accurately predict admissions chances pretty well. Hope that helps!

are those percentages just the actual acceptance rates of the universities? haha

lol if that's the case, i doubt this is accurate:
Northwestern - 74.686%

thats true, but the first three are pretty much the actual acceptance rates

Wow now I feel stupid and have no chance. You'll probably get in though!
Chance me:
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/587107-kind-posters-please-chance-me-i-beg.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/587107-kind-posters-please-chance-me-i-beg.html</a></p>

"derived from my own personal formula"
LMAO! Wow CC has become really weird.

The lowdown:

Stanford EA - Reach
Yale - Reach
Princeton - Reach
UPenn - Low Reach/High Match
Johns Hopkins - match
Boston College - match
Columbia - Low Reach
Northwestern - match
Penn State - uber safety

You might want to consider UCB, which for you should be a high match.

I'm going to bump this 5 days before the Stanford decisions come out cause I really have no idea what to do with myself while I wait.
Predict my chances and Ill post the result when I get the email on the 15th!

personally I wouldnt expect too much.
Your chances are no better than mine
and the only flaw i really see is where is your passion?
you have all these wonderful things, but where is your purpose. Without that, I dont see it, unless you really did something in your essays, then, I believe you probably will be deferred

I'd have to agree with phi6, but if you're that good at Ping-Pong, I'd think you'll be alright.

Reach for every school except Johns Hopkins, BC, Columbia, NW, and Penn, where you're a match (unless it's Wharton, then who knows?).

Question, though. Why Penn St?

Stanford EA- high match
Yale- reach
Princeton- reach
UPenn- reach
Johns Hopkins- match
Boston College- match
Columbia- reach
Northwestern- IN
Penn State- IN IN IN

agree with springbok and phi6- the EC's are good but they are a bit disjointed. In other words, what are you a specialist in?

Good Luck anyway!

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/612877-please-help-chance-me-i-m-nervous.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/612877-please-help-chance-me-i-m-nervous.html</a></p>

hmmmm, i stressing ping pong a lot in the app but I guess we'll see on monday. Truthfully, Ive been preparing for rejection for the past couple weeks so its not gonna be a shock to me if thats the result I actually get.

Don't be haters. tjan91 has stellar scores. Assuming he has decent writing skills and reccs, his application is what adcoms dream of. He is academically accomplished, but has also achieved rare and difficult to attain ec honors. His "passion" is self-evident from his success in ping pong, and he's clearly an active person in his school. What school doesn't want nationally recognized individuals in their entering class?
