I just took the Oct sat!

Math is always my strongest subject, so I don't really think the math was harder.

There were 2 near-impossible SCs in CR. I don't even recognize the answer choices in all my experience of taking the SAT!

I retook the SAT just because I thought I could do better in Writing. Turns out I'm wrong -- the error IDs probably killed me again. Last time I had -5 wrong and 10 essay, so if I could improve that then I'm happy.

i know i got one question wrong in Math. any chance of 800?

Math is also my strongest subject but I got a wrong in grid in(which I know of) . I gridded the wrong value. ANy chance of 800???

And my experimental section was CR not Maths (typo..above)

Thankfully , the SCs had some of the words I had learnt this morning for the first time...Even I couldn't believe it.

If the math curve is good (but it hasn't been in awhile), then you will have a chance at 800.

I used process of elimination for the SCs. Thankfully, I got them all correct. I'm not so sure about the passage questions though...

omg the math was ridiculously different from what I was expecting! and the reading comprehension was so annoying with the reoccuring themes.

I have to get this straight- do curves vary accordingly to the difficulty of the tes or are they like rigidly determined? Cause if they are not that would equate to death :/.

~.~; damn so 1 wrong you expect to be how much? 780?

^ probably.

taken from http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=219270&highlight=math+curve

MATH;
54- 800
53- 790
52- 760
51- 740
50- 720
49- 710
48- 700
47- 690
46- 680
45- 670
44- 660
43- 650

The math curve is usually pretty good, until you get to like -3, then there's a sharp drop.

-0: 800
-1: 790
-2: 760
-3: 720 (using the curve above)

oasis, if you dont mind me asking what was your score with a 10 essay and -5 RAW (Cause thats what I hope I got :p)?

oasis, do you think we took the same test version? I had a writing experimental section, too.

i dun think the math curve will be like that, last time i took the sat,
1 wrong =780
but i suppose the curve this time is easier to score, since i din do one question, plus there are much harder question!! : ) felt challenged for SAT1's maths for the first time, and i felt so annoyed when i have to do 35 question again..
i suppose they have 5-10 different sets of SAT question, don't they??
Cause there is this guy beside me being nice and tell me that i;m might be doing the wrong section,(he's doin CR and i;m doin maths, both sec 3, and i told him there are different sets... =) good luck guys!

okay, after what I just read in this thread. I'm 100% sure I made the right choice by not taking the Oct test. I hope november isn't this bad!!

I had 4 CR sections (Central Europe).

lol, the girl beside me was confused when she saw that our sections differed. never seen such a great relief when I filled her in. but all she needed were 2x 410 on CR and M. athletes.

cesar - I actually got -5, 10 essay twice (Jan/Jun). Both of them are 690s =/

I think the writing curve is too brutal.

What Was The Essay!?!?

Yuck was the essay. Ouch - calculated 5 minutes to much for it and time was called in the middle of a sentence. Anyone knows how much it will be off ? (no conclusion - the rest should be fine).

Math was tricky sometimes and I had to guess one grid in. However, the rest was fine and the longer the test took, the better it became. Let's wait and see.

what was the topic of your essays?

i had an experimental writing also but are you sure its the first section that was experimental?

also for the essay, IT WAS SO WEIRD
i hate using personal experiences but i couldnt think of anything so i ended up using a literature/experience combo. experiences dont lower your score...do they?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

writing was hard and cr was pretty easy which is a miracle for me bc i am stupid in analyzing passages.

HAHAHHA fu**ing done with SATs FOREVER!!!!!!!!
Essay-seen this topic thousand times.
CR-I suck at CR but this one was relatively easy! I mean, many of the answers were just straightforward.
Math-The last two pages of one section (section 7?) killed me!! (hope this one is experimental..though I don't even know if math was experimental lol) but I have 790 on math so don't really care hehe.
Writing-(always) harder than I expected.. those damn NoErrors!! arghh!

In general it was not too bad..whatever that means.

Did anyone get a SC answer with altered/revolution. That was the only one I wasn't sure of.

I found the passages hard, especially the Thoreau one, but then again, Math is my strongpoint.
