Any suggestions? I'm open to any match/reaches!
Again, sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance! :)

HYPS are a soaring reach, but everything else looks fine. You’ve got a stellar GPA, and you had a pretty solid ACT. Good luck!

I’d agree that HYPS are high reaches, but there are many A-/B+ schools that you may have a shot at, with financial aid. I think NYU is within reach but I’m not sure that you’ll get much in the way of financial aid. I would have a sit-down with your guidance counselor ASAP to discuss some other options.

Good job! Good luck!

Being Hispanic gives you a boost at the privates, but not at the UCs. It’s not the bigger boost being black or Native American gets, so I’d consider adding some great schools not quite as competitive as HYP. I’d especially focus on schools meeting 100% of need which NYU does not.

I think first gen and low income gives a boost at UC’s, but the money situation could be a problem.

Wesleyan’s a good choice. They’ll be interested in a strong app. from a male Hispanic.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Money seems to be a major issue. Are there any schools within my range that will meet 100% of my financial need?

Just finished applying to UCs and CSUs. Any other takers?

There are lots of schools that will meet your need. I don’t know where to start because with your goal and interests you can go anywhere.

Coming from socal I’m thinking New England LACs might be a great way to see a different world. I’d look at Bowdoin, Colby, Bates, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, colgate. In the Mid West Carleton, Macalaster, St. Olaf. In CA any of the Claremont Colleges.

And then the ivies. Any are worth a try. Good luck!
