I keep missing 3-4 for each section of CR. Any tips to help me get over it? I usually don't miss vocabulary, btw.

any specific types of questions your missing?

Not really...I've been trying very hard to pinpoint the kind of question that I'm missing. It seems that I'm missing arbitrary questions.

don't over-analyze the question. I always pick an answer then think WAY to hard about it, and end up changing to something else- that always ends up wrong.

It is extremely hard to improve your CR score. There aren't really any studyguides that can help you with it. Just try to read a lot of books that have a rich vocabulary. Eventually, you will begin to develop a deeper understanding for all of that, and you will be able to read through literate passages much faster. That's really the only way that you can help yourself.

Good luck! I hope I could help.

Well, I feel as if I've met my peak, which turns into kinda my question: Am I just bound to miss 3-4 per section due to bad luck/divine force?

lol, I don't think so. but it does seem like a lot of it's due to luck.
I'm mad now becuase I just realized I missed the same number in october and may, but my score only changed because of the curve. I had thought I was actually doing better...

Well you probably did do better. The curve is there because some tests are harder, and so if u miss the same number on a hard test as an easy one, then that means you are doing better.

Critical reading is definitely the most annoying section of the test. Well, in my opinion at least.

yeah i agree it is the most annoying

^ second that...but along with the writting too. But the math curve is also quite annoying, so yeah....i guess the whole test is pretty annoying

Yeah, the entire test really is a b*itch. I don't think that the problem with it is really about the content, it's just the ridiculous time limits. You have barely a minute to answer all the questions. What's next?? Writing a poem in 30 seconds?? I know many really smart people that don't do well on the exam only because of the time limit. This has been the topic of heated debate for a while, so there's no need to talk about it anymore.

As for the CR section, I really don't see the logic in some of the questions. My English Lit teacher always told us that there is no wrong answer so long as you argue your points well (obviously, writing a stunning commentary on the social lives of snails for a question about the themes of a poem won't get you too many points, but you know what I mean). Basically, if you think that the author of the excerpt meant one thing, and the Collegeboard thinks the author meant another thing, you will automatically be wrong. Your thoughts are invalid if they aren't the CB's thoughts.
