I kind of lied on my application...

I put that I came to U.S. in 7th grade when, for real, I came here at the end of 5th grade. How bad is this? Are they gonna check my middle school records?

i doubt it

Are they gonna kill me for this?

Yea, you’re going to jail my friend.

Tons of people have little “inaccuracies” on their applications. You’re fine.

Why would you lie about such a little thing?

Have you considered community college?

Haha, just kidding. It’s not an issue. Don’t worry about it.

Yes this is an issue: if you had came to the US in 5th grade, the SAT and ACT should present you no lingual problems.

A student who came to the US from a non-english speaking country in 7th would at least have some leeway on the CR part of the SAT and ACT.

I personally don’t think it is a big deal, even if they found out how they know the difference that is was a lie vs. just a typo?

Do you think you would have been a different applicant if you had arrived in 7th grade vs. 5th grade?

If it really bothers you then contact the school and let them know.

realistically, it could matter, but it probably wouldn’t
