i’m currently an 11th grader, but i already know penn is my top-choice school for next year. my grades werent amazing 9th+10th grade, but theres a major upward trend and my gpa now is a 4.2. I get all A’s, except i’ve showed one C+ in math and a B- (i really suck at math). I wont even ask if this is okay, b/c i really have my heart set on penn and i’ll apply no matter what.
My question is this: i took the SAT I’s really early this year, and my breakdown is 770 v, 710 w, 630 math. That seems okay on paper, but my cumulative score is only a 21100, and my parents think i should take it again. I think so too, cus it couldnt hurt to try again, right?
But if my scores dont go up significantly (esp in math) am i still a competitive applicant? i’ve heard ppl say that getting over a 1400 (old sAt) was okay, and im pretty much there. However, all the kids in my grade whove visited/showed interest in penn have 22/2300’s+ . And their grades are far better than mine. This really worries me, but i dont have the money or the means to invest in a tutor or something crazy like that ( alot of kids @ my school do that- one guy even got a psat tutor).

please help…
