Go for it!! Rice does not judge by the numbers, so you should apply. Good luck!

No one knows for sure except the Rice Admissions Committee, but if I were a betting person, my money would be on you, even with the SAT scores you have now. But I agree that you should take the ACT, especially with the practice test scores you have gotten so far. It looks like it's a better test for you.

Good luck!

Sorry to be crude "boyhood", but if your numbers don't help you, though your rank definitely should, I can almost guarantee you will get in by the lovely boost of our friend, AA. Good Luck :D.

You definitely have a shot at Rice. I don't think you'd need to explain your SAT scores if you take it again and do well. Your ECs are really great. Be sure to emphasize leadership positions and community impact in your application if you can.

Your resume and stats look awesome, minus the SAT score. If you take the ACT and score like you did on the practice tests, I think you have a great shot at getting into Rice. And like someone else said, if you do take the ACT and score well, there is no need to explain your SAT scores.

kornpopz: Being a URM is by no means a guarantee of admittance to Rice. Besides, AA is something that, even if economically based instead of ethnicity based (an argument that is not for this thread), would apply to people like the OP. Considering her background (not her ethnicity), I think her application looks incredible.
