So, I have gotten 4 Bs, three of which are in college classes. I'm an entering senior, and have a 3.97 UW and about a 4.3 weighted.

I can't help but imagine that this will hurt me...
I've gotten a B in a high school math class, that I raised to an A the next semester (jr year).

I've gotten a B in two psychology courses (I had a heavy load both times), and an art class (summer class) all at a community college at which I have taken about 8 courses there so far.

I'm in love with Yale. More recently, I've discovered U Chicago. Different, yeah.

Point is, I can't help but think this is going to hurt me...I'm nervous. Those thoughts that I should have worked harder and that I was so close to an A drift into my mind. It's my fault, true.

Do you think it will make a big deal? And, please, no need for the "you're crazy" or "yeah. go jump off a cliff. that's the only way you'll get to college." If it is ridiculous, okay...I understand. I'd probably think that if I saw someone else post this...but the perfect GPAs here and the people telling me that so many of the schools I am applying to that I thought were safeties/matches are reaches makes me doubt myself.

Yes, Yale would be a big stretch with Bs at a community college. Also, when states allow you to retake a grade, Yale doesn't. They count the original.

My school doesn't rank as it "creates an environment more competitive in an already highly competitive environment."

Gosh. I'm being ridiculous, aren't I? For me, I guess the lack of confidence and terror of applying to colleges kicks in, and I need reassurance. Sorry about this thread. Ignore it if you will.

Don't worry too much about it. Lot's of people get into college, even top schools, with Bs. It's no big deal. Just make sure you work hard on the rest of your application.

At HYP, they view so much of the entire package that it doesn't come down to SAT scores or scores of single courses. Of course, if you have a lot of these "setbacks" in multiple areas of your application, it will have a noticeable effect, but really, it's the whole picture that you paint to the admission staff that counts. Having an amazing EC might very easily negate those 4 Bs (your UW GPA is pretty good, so that will help).

You're right. Thanks for all of your help. Actually, I did fall back a bit because I tried to keep the number of classes I was taking steady while starting up my non-profit organization, which took a huge amount of time. I guess now I know that I should cut back on classes if I want to do both. Thanks to everyone.
