get denzera to put in a good word for you and you’re in…seriously. and yes it’s probably paid…they tend to pay ~$10/hr

not for the job you want

it’s not a big problem…it’s livable …though i guess you’d get less breeze if you were on a low floor and/or on a side of the building not facing campus…luckily i was in a high campus-facing room.

most of their interns come to them and do odd jobs or otherwise demonstrate some sort of value. it’s not widely advertised.

and yes, if they want you for the summer, they’ll probably put you up for free, plus interim periods. that alone is $3,300 worth of value. I would expect them to pay $10-15/hr, and the hours they want may vary (i.e. you may be able to do another professionally-related internship part time to get better experience even if unpaid).

so yeah, if you want one, learn what you can about housing and then show up and ask if they need any help during the rest of room selection. help out during all your free time the next few weeks, and then see if they could use you for the summer. but you gotta be assertive… and helpful.

i know you’re joking, but… the girl was an athlete and thin as a rail. it’s seriously the beds. they’re not built for two. I heartily recommend the futon approach mentioned upthread.

I checked. Unfortunately the only way to get free summer housing is by being a summer RA and apparently that process was decided months back, in early February with decisions due to go out this week.

I missed the boat. My summer prospects are now quite bleak. sigh.

You may still be able to apply for some of the scholarship assistance funds but I think you need to be working at an unpaid internship and demonstrate financial need.
