I know it doesn't matter, but...

I was wondering, does anyone know what portion of the Stanford EA pool is made of kids with 1500+ SATs (or even students who are near the tops of their classes)?

This could help me feel better. But most likely not. I know it doesn't matter (1600s get rejected, 1300s get in), but it would be an interesting stat.

hmmm, if we use CC, it'd be around 80%. However, i think it's more like 50%. But that's just a wild guess.

look at yahoo's education page

What part?

its more like 50% have 1400+

^ wait.... so you mean half of the applicants have SAT scores LOWER than 1400??? hmm then CC's pool is light-years more competitive than the total applicant pool

Yeah -- I had figured that from the beginning. The EA pool here is way more competitive than the actual pool. It makes sense if you think about it, a site like this naturally attracts that kind of student, I think. It will be interesting to see the final acceptance rate from CC members versus the total pool.

-Ender

What do you think the CC rate was last year?

I dunno. I was actually trying to find the old Stanford threads from last year around the time that decision letters came out, but couldn't find them. Maybe someone else can take a look.

-Ender

Ha ha! Sadly, I've done the same. I need to find better ways to use my free time.

i couldnt fidn them either... it looked like a chunck was missing from the archieves.

Well, the Stanford website says about 50% of applicants have 1400+. Now all we need to figure out is whether more or less than half of those have 1500+ and whether the EA pool is stronger.
