<p>I've got hte 5 gig one. Better than an Ipod Mini.
I'm out of warranty and it's still working well.</p>
<p>My dad has creative's nomad jukebox one and I believe it has 30 MG of storage, but is quite a bit cheaper than the ipod.</p>

<p>and it's stupid to use. I just used an Ipod for the first time two weeks ago and I was amazed by the stupidity of it. I love apple and all, but I"m definately not a fan of the dumb overpriced thing that everbody is buying just because everyone else has one.. and Visirale.. you probably just got two lemons. Everyone has bad experiences. that's like saying that Honda makes crappy cars because i saw two of them broken down along the side of the road yesterday... when everyone knows they make great cars.</p>

<p>no, the interface, with the wheel... they simplify it so much that it seems stupid... and this is coming from someone whose family owns about 5 players... zen, lyra, ipod shuffle, ipod... and something else</p>

<p>The iPod interface is genius compared to that of the zen. What size libraries are you all dealing with? I have 15 gigs... When I'm browsing by artist like I ususally do it took forever to scroll on the zen, and wasn't comfortable. But with the iPod, the more you scroll, the faster the rate of scrolling gets. The iPod has so many little intricacies like that that make it wonderful. I can use my iPod with one hand while driving, with the help of the iTrip transmitter. The zen took both hands and just was a pain to use...</p>
<p>But justify cheaping out 50 bucks however you want, I can understand ;).</p>
<p>or maybe it was the annoyances with itunes, how everything was encoded, or perhaps how they refuse to replace the battery within warranty? or maybe it's because the wheel is used to do everything so when that breaks so does the ipod? i have 17/20 gigs filled... zen/lyra hasn't been a problem</p>
<p>I love my iPod.</p>
<p>I mean, there are flaws. It has one of the shortest battery lives of all of them, and most of my friends who have them get problems with them once they're about halfway filled up.</p>
<p>Even so, because it overwhelms the market so entirely, help is easy to find with it. And Apple engineering is just ingenious. The thing will make you marvel. And opening the box was one of the funnest experiences I've had in a while.</p>
<p>AND if anything does go wrong with it, you can send it into Apple and they'll fix it for you.</p>
<p>There's really no reason to get any other player. It's pretty pointless.</p>
