Essays: I really enjoyed writing them, and my parents and sister liked them, but their opinions may not be universal. Each one showed a totally different side of me, which is hopefully good.

Recommendations: I had my 11th grade English teacher and my Social Anthro teacher write the two required ones. Both should be good, the English one slightly better since he’s known me longer. I also sent an additional recommendation from my newspaper advisor which should be awesome since she loves me. My counselor recommendation is probably pretty standard since she’s new this year and doesn’t know me very well.

Interview: I didn’t apply early enough to get one. Is that bad?

What do you guys think? Do I have a chance? After getting rejected from Columbia I need some outside perspective.

Just a mom here, but I think your stats and experience certainly should put you in a good position for addmission to Barnard. I will keep fingers, toes and anything else I can find firmly crossed for you!

Hang in there!

Thanks! I hope we all do well! I'm going up tomorrow for a newspaper conference at Columbia and I plan on stopping by campus. So excited!!!
