i know this is really being paranoid, but...

if you get rejected to all the schools you wanted to go to, and you realize that you despise your safety options, what would you do?

i KNOW, i already said i was being paranoid! :S ;) thanks.

take a gap year? or go to one of your safeties and plan to transfer asap

but that's why you try to find safeties you really like and wouldn't mind going to

If you despise your safety option, y did you even apply there?

Tell me the college you applied to, and what state you live in ;)

Yeah, it's really not worth applying to a safety school unless you know you're going to enjoy your experience, that's what I did, especially since I had eight reaches so I had to have an escape plan which was actually a very strong school, though since I was in-state I knew I was getting in regardless, so yeah, just make sure you're happy with every place you're applying to or else it's not worth applying there, so..

There is no answer to this question other than you're stupid for choosing safeties you dislike or you don't have a wide selection of safeties due to abysmally low stats, which, in most cases, means your lazy and stupid (being lazy is stupid, hence both) or have a mixture of complications beyond your control and you did your best.

woah there sephiroth. No need to be so harsh.
besides, i dont think he applied yet.
It's summer. If he already applied, he probably got his result.
If not, then he has some serious thinkings to do.

Not being harsh since he obviously hasn't done this yet. I'm just saying what it most likely is.

"have a mixture of complications beyond your control and you did your best."

That is the part that removes the harshness, atleast I think it did.

But college admissions is harsh so bring on the harshness, though let's no be too mean ;). But yeah, get a nice mix [though obviously I didn't do that] and good luck with everything :D

clears throat SHE, thank you, said she was being paranoid...and I am just making assumptions, faintly remembering a thread which they've described a student being rejected to all his schools....now that I look back, I think this college app thing is getting to me too much. Of course I'll pick safeties that I think will be appealing to me, but it is very possible that I will not like what I see, despite the image of the safety school that I had thought of before.

But thanks for all your inputs :] appreciate it

don't be so openly mean, sephiroth, calling the OP lazy/ stupid, unless you want me to call you a loser for having a video game villain as your handle.

It's not paranoia, it happens to lots of kids. Type Andi's son into search and read. Make sure you have a real safety.

i would enlist

....huh? YA10 what are you talking about? enlist in the army?

well yeah he asked what would i do... and i gave an answer.

oh...
why is everyone calling me (the OP) HE? am I that ambigenderous (yes its a word!) :S i don't know if i would ever fight for US. even if i was a he.

well your konadian so i dont see why you should :P

:] good call. this column seems to be very active right now, dont you think?

I think anyone found in that situation would actually learn more in that one year than in any other year at the college of their dreams.

Regardless of what you do, the object is to make the most of it.
