lol, good guesses Chaos. no, lbso (LBSO)... is short for LittleBabySeaOtter.. :)

I hated eighth grade. I hate ninth grade, too. I'm assuming I'm going to hate tenth grade also.

It all seems rather pointless, but we're CCers so I guess it's what we do. My only advice to you is not to get sucked into taking classes because they're "fun," unless of course it really is fun and that's what you are looking for. ;) There was this course last year that I had never planned on signing up for, but eventually my friends convinced me to sign up under the assurance that it was "the best class they'd taken in all of high school." What a load of BS. Now I'm suck in a boring, AP-level history class that only gives honors credit. It's two years too, so it's going to look like crap on my resume when I drop it next year. Fun.

Right, so moral of my story is look before you leap, and may you enjoy high school to its fullest extent, whatever that is.

I guess if you're looking for advice

Just find out about all the opportunities you have. There's a lot of stuff out there, like all the science olympiads, RSI, Intel, TASP, and a whole bunch of stuff. And I think that's one of the reasons you should stay here, even though you're in 8th grade. If for some reason, I didn't get on here, I wouldn't know about any of this. I wouldn't know about any of the math competitions, or a lot of the stuff I do now. Like I'm going to a computer programming contest at Purdue in May, and I'm almost 100% sure that if I didn't find out about math competitions and olympiads from CC as a middle-schooler, I wouldn't have qualified to go at all, even if I found out about it somewhere else as a sophomore.

So yea, don't worry too much about college, but take advantage of all the stuff that's out there.

But how do you find out about all of that stuff?

^^Stay on CollegeConfidential.

Gotcha! (1o characters)

I love how they say the best students come here, which isn't true at all. Don't type one word posts by the way. It's basically annoying; why do you think a 10 character minimum rule was instituted?

glares at Masterus You think you're so smart don't you? Please don't think you can judge someone based on just this forum.

^No, no! Don't fall for Masterus's line. He often makes, well, let's just say, remarks that warrant a response.

I happen to disagree Masterus; the best students do come on here.

Personally, I'm not sure if the best students come here, but I would like to believe so. It makes me feel better ;)

Thanks snoopyiscool. I agree with you. Most of these students on here seem to actually care about their education...

Basically noone is a genius on this board...Noone. Caring about education doesn't make a good student. It doesn't matter if you're a good student. what matters is if you're actually smart.

Have you seen the stats? It seems that no one on here is average.

Wrong, most(basically everyone) are average for my standards. Average, below, or they don't even register on my radar.

I see. /************/

I think most people on here (not necessarily all) people here atleast try. ^_^

No, otter, everyone on here tries too much. :)

Trying doesn't mean anything. It only proves determination. You need to understand that an excellent student isn't made from determination.

Look, Masterus. I am not going to discuss this with you anymore. Anything I will say to you is pointless.
^_^

Aha! /********/
