I know we're supposed to reply back to colleges we are not attending,but...

How do we even do this? I certainly will to be courteous, but I don't get how we do this...

Either by the reply cards that they put in their admission packets, or many allow you to do it online.

If you don’t pay their deposits, they assume you’re not attending.

Yeah. The reply cards are for if you decide you’re not attending before May 1st. It’s pretty much useless now, because if you didn’t send in the deposit, you have already forfeited your spot.

I sent an email to them saying I was going to somewhere else, thank you for your offer of admission, etc.

It’s too late now, though.

It’s not “too late”: 11:59PM is the deadline!

I think anytime in the early part of this week, an email would be appreciated. I think it makes it easier for schools that want to go to a waitlist.

^Ditto. I imagine there’s an unofficial grace period before they move to the waitlist.

Some schools have extended the deadline to May 2 because May 1 has been a Sunday. You should check.
