UC Berkeley (Industrial Engineering and Operations Research)
UCLA (Mechanical Engineering)
UCSD (Mechanical Engineering)
UCSB (Mechanical Engineering)
USC (Industrial Engineering)
University of Michigan- Ann Arbor (Industrial Engineering)
Northeastern University: Industrial Engineering
I already got accepted to McGill (Mechanical Engineering) and Cal Poly SLO (Industrial Engineering), even though they didn’t ask for my personal statements (which are pretty well-done in my opinion).
I appreciate any input you can give me about my chances at each of these colleges.
I’d say you have a really good chance at UCSD, UCSB, USC and Univ of Michigan.
For UCLA, Berkeley and Northeastern, I would say maybe you could increase your CR score. They don’t seem entirely out of reach though. But hopefully they overlook that because of the rest of your amazing stats.
I think the national Judo championship is definitely a strong hook and I hope some of your application was focused on that. Not many high school students can say they’ve represented their country in international competitions.
Most of your EC’s/grades/standardized scores are average which isn’t bad, since I think it will be enough to get into some of the schools on your list.
You definitely stand a good chance for all the schools on your list except Stanford (it’s a high reach for everyone, don’t worry ). It’s too bad you didn’t write the ACT: I got your same score on the SAT but a 33 on ACT.
@thetsaria Thanks! I didn’t take the ACT since universities in my country don’t consider it and it would be really hard to find a test center that administers it. But I guess my SAT’s sufficient for most of the colleges I applied to.
@Komz1304 Your stats are really good (SAT can be higher though) but I’m sorry I can’t chance you since I’m not familiar with the colleges you have applied to.
@CalDude2020 Thanks for the chance. I agree, we do have quite a bit in common. Congrats on McGill (I got in as well but for Cognitive Science). Stanford is a high reach for everyone. But don’t count yourself out you have some great ECs. I would be surprised if you didn’t get into Northeastern. UC Berkeley UCLA, University of Michigan and USC are selective but I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into at least one. You have a great shot at UCSD and UCSB. Best of Luck!
Your application seems on par with a lot of people I have met at UofM, including CoE students. You will just have to wait and see how that plays out. Good Luck!
