I like to do the cha-cha like a sissy girl (will chance back)

Hey people! I'm an international student here. I don't know where I stand because as an international student I presume entry standards may be quite different.

Location: Italia!
Ethnicity: Indian (Asian)
Gender: Sasquatch (Hairy male)
School Type: Small private school (~70 people in graduating class)
Not applying for financial aid.

Academics-
GPA: School doesn't do GPA or rank.
IGCSEs: 10 A*s, 1 A (these aren't too well known in America)
Full IB diploma: Predicted 45 (out of 45) although apparently they don't look at this :/
SAT: 1470/2190 (750M, 720CR, 720W). Retaking in December.
SAT II's: 800 Math II, 800 Physics (taking last one in January for Harvard)

Classes:
IB full diploma: Math, Physics, Economics HL, English A1, French B, Chemistry SL

Extracurricular Activities (in no particular order):
- President of student council (Junior and Senior year)
- Head of House (bit like prefect - elected by everyone from 6th to 12th grade)
- Elected student leader of a charity organization. During my time in the organization, I've helped organize about twenty events and we've raised about 50,000 euros. I've also designed its website, independently designed its newsletter, independently published greeting cards and founded its newsletter. We also donated to provide aid for victims of the earthquake in L'Aquila earlier this year. (10, 11, 12)
- I'm a freelance web designer, graphic designer and photographer. I sell my photos on stock image websites. I started a business with two classmates and we earn money working on freelance projects - these include jobs attained over the internet involving web design as well as local jobs from people in Italy (where I live). We've just gotten ourselves a job designing a logo for a company and are being paid 150 euro per image (3 images).
- Model United Nations (11, 12)
- Played guitar for 6 years, drums for 4 years. I play in a band. We've performed in the school talent show and at some local concerts.

-Awards: (mainly school awards lol, we don't really get award opportunities here):
- Outstanding Academic Achievement award generally given to top 2 students. Received 2 years in a row.
- Gold award in UK maths challenge.
- Subject awards in Biology, IT, French, Italian, Economics and English.
- First prize in school science fair for a project on the fluid dynamics of a bottle :P

Wrote a research paper in French on the media representation of Jose Bove and how it has skewed his image and the nature of his political message.

Hooks: None (drat)

Thanks for the replies. I’ve chanced back. Any others?

Berkely and williams are your best bets. About fifty fifty Good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/820780-will-chance-back-pineapples.html

Not applying for financial aid? I think that you’ve got a great shot at Harvard, depending of course on your score on the last subject test. Your Math score leaves a lot to be desired for MIT, but you never know. The other schools are a sure thing. Kind regards.

T’as une chance super, quant

Thanks for the replies. I like how we use “chance” as a verb on CC (e.g. will you chance me? lol).

Any more chancage would be appreciated.

I think you have an excellent shot at your reach schools if you can up your SATs because you’re international not applying for financial aid. Considering you have 3/5 as reaches, I would probably look at some more schools.

Hi skate4gold27, thanks for the reply.

Actually, the reason I’m only applying to reach schools is that I’m also applying to the UK. I would only really consider the US if I could get into a great school, hence why I’m gambling a bit with the reaches.

bumper cars just in case there are some more opinions/advice…

in at berkeley, i know someone above me said this but 50/50 for williams, and HSM are all reaches

chance back?
