Who does your hair?

A guy I know from church who owns a salon in Boston… Gives me a big discount too!

Off topic warning
You go to church?

A Hispanic barber I see for touch-ups or during the spring/summer, and a brunette when I’m in class. Before beach season, I cut off all my hair and get a tapered fade. Around September, I let it grow and go with razored at the top and shorter on the sides with a blocked nape - I touch up every two weeks. Depending on my mood I might let it grow a bit longer, and then I’ll get it layered every other visit in addition to the usual.

My friends and I buzz each other’s hair

Me. Natural hair has made my life so much easier/cheaper.

I do, though I admittedly don’t do too much to it.

^ Does it look good? My friend does her own, as in different styles and dyes, and it looks salon done.

I whip my hair back and forth. I whip my hair back and forth.
I whip my hair back and forth. I whip my hair back and forth.
I whip my hair back and forth. I whip my hair back and forth.

^^^ You clip your own leaves?

^^^It’s nice enough to get by, but it’s by no means “salon done.”

^No!

My negro in the hood.

This girl my sister went to high school with. She does good work. I’m gonna miss her when I go off to college. :(

As far as adding highlights, color, styling, and stuff like that goes, I always do that myself. But for trims or a new cut, I drive all the way up to New York.

I usually braid down my hair 3 or 4 times a year at a local African Salon. But that stuffs expensive, like 200 to 300 dollars each time. Between getting braids done my mother’s long time friend just relaxes and straightens my hair. that’s about it.

^ dang you should find someone who does braids as a side job. I’ve never paid more than $100 for them.

^Yeah, I know. I’ve gone to like 3 salons to get braids done and they’ve all costed around the same: like 220 dollars. I think it’s because I tend to have really thick hair, which means more braids, time, and money. :(

I tend to have thick hair too, but it was really thin today.

^^ Go natural :)

lol I try to convert everyone.

^I tried to go natural once. I had a lot of hair growth, but the amount of hair I lost outweighed the growth, either way. Besides, I just can’t manage going natural. It’s easier to just relax, straighten, and braid (eventually) my hair. But I do have respect for people who are able to pull of a natural look. I just can’t.
