I lost my acceptance form!!! What should i do???

fortunately, it's not the school i plan to go to. Ha! SURPRISE!! ;-P

But i lost the acceptance form of another school, and i really don't know what i should do. Do i HAVE TO send the form back to them??? isn't it ok if i just don't say anything to them??

and another question, which is about financial aid.
By selecting a school, does that mean that i'm accepting their financial aid??? And the financial aid offered from other schools just disappears???

find their email and drop them an email.

well are we supposed to send them to schools we don't plan on going to?

they appreciate it as it is feedback to them. If u lose it, write an email or letter saying no and then tell them why and where ur going if u want.

Cheapseats, i'm curious about that, too. i mean, some of the schools' acceptance forms have a checkbox written next to it: "i am NOT going to attend _, and instead i am planning to attend _" So i thought it would be the right thing to do to send the form back with that checkbox checked. I mean like, thinking of all the time and effort they used to bring to their school, sending a piece of paper back seems the least thing i can do.

and banedon17, u mean the undergraduate admissions office, right??

thanx antarius, i'll do that:-)

yes.. send an email or letter.

And banedon did mean the Ug admissions office (thats what I understood of it.. and i thats the only possibility)

so did I :-) just a matter of confirmation, you know. ;-)

Accepting financial aid is a separate thing. That is, if you say "no" to a school, then their aid package is automatically considered to be declines, too. But accepting your school doesn't mean you're accepting their aid. That's a separate arrangement you make. Some people don't take all the aid that is offered to them (decline some loan, take less work-study, etc). So don't assume that just because you've confirmed you're enrolling, your business with the FA office there is complete! Paperwork with them is a separate process.

yes ususally u have to send the acceptance to one and another signed sheet to the FA office

really?! how come i haven't received any of those sheets that require my signature??? -0-;;;

when are these signed sheets usually due?

did you get any aid?
usually you have to sign an aid letter and return it to the FA office, while another sheet confuirms your enrollment and accompaniees the deposit to the UG admissions office

i did get an aid offer, but it told me to keep it.
hmm...
are these signed sheets due May 1 as well???

i dont know eally.. this is from my exposure to what ive seen of me and my riends.. call hem. But if it says that u dont need to sign and respond, then it should be okay

so we can just e-mail them and tell them thank you but I won't be attending and will be attending whatever for whatever reasons? Should we include the reason for their purposes?? I don't know where my acceptance forms to PSU and Wisonsin are and I don't even know my password to login into PSU anymore. But Jac I must say the $60 application fees should be enough for their trouble.

Don't do it for the people in the admissions office - do it for people on the waitlist who might get to hear before May 1st if a lot of people let admissions know that they're declining offers early on.

You're right, I'll do it for my fellow 2010ers. I was accepted off a waitlist and I was happy but now I must return the favor. So what do I do? Do i just say no thanks, say the school I am going to and why?? I don't want to exactly say why unless they prefer it, do they? Can i do it in an e-mail directly to the admissions office?

does anybody know if we have to accept/decline financial aid by the enrollment date(may 1st)?

i'd like to know that, too
