I love how we've turned into a small group of friends...

yeah that's what I was thinking too, pk!
sounds good though, whoamg... I'm assuming you're from CA? at least you'll probably have palm trees on campus, right? maybe not I'm not sure, but I know Stanford has palm trees... haha I think that is so cool.
I'm so jealous of all you guys who have definite backups. I still don't really know where I'm going to apply RD, which is very bad.

the STANFORD rep who came in our area said that about 55% of all Stanford students come from CALIFORNIA! is this just extreme bias/favoritism? his excuse/reason was, "california is a big state with a lot of applicants." but it can't be that big or competitive. imagine if P'ton took 55% from NJ, that would be awesome.

hmm... I guess our definitions of awesome are just a tad bit different :)

lol not for me!!

edit: replying to pk's post.... basically saying the same thing as windslicer :)

Yes, I live in CA, and so I'm giving up a lot by applying to Princeton. If they don't want me, fine, go freeze out there you orange and black meanies >:P

Ugh, I'm paranoid about Berkeley though. I really don't want to go to my safety, UCSD. If I got rejected from everywhere else and/or didn't get enough financial aid, I think I'd just go get a job at Google or something. Somehow.

lol going to a state school would be like HIGH SCHOOL all over again!!

like at least 20% of the same people and stuff lol. my heart couldn't take it.

i too live in CA, and im in a similar boat as you whoamg

Hmm... aren't there some other CA schools you can apply to as safeties? Isn't Pepperdine over there? aka the school with the #1 most beautiful campus in my Princeton Review book? haha as you can see I like that book a lot. And what about Pomona? I'm not sure how hard they are to get into but they're easier than Stanford & Princeton I'm sure.

what's wrong w/ ucsd? i did a cs research w/ a professor there and the food / campus / facilities / girls / dorms were just AMAZING and beats UCB any day. (trust me, i have been to berkeley. you go there if you want to meet hobos.)

lol 4 posts in the same minute

^ Yeah, that's totally how I feel.

University of Florida's Honors program is a good deal, especially for the price (free!), but it'd just feel like a let down to go to the same school I could have gotten into with a lot less work.

EDIT: Lol this was a reply to post #26, rofl..

pk- I feel EXACTLY the same way!! I was JUST telling my mom about why I didn't want to go to UVA and my #1 reason was that tons of people from my HS go there. I want a NEW experience!

no wonder princeton thread has the most posts out of all the ivies

lol the bit about the hobos is funny. gqunit, what does cs stand for? (i hope not counter-strike?)

lol 4 posts AGAIN in the same minute- 12:27

lol counterstrike... computer science

I'd think computer science.. lol @ counter-strike (I'm sure some interesting research there)

lol we gotta keep it up so P'ton stays at the top of the no.posts lol

We'll have added like a thousand extra posts to this forum by the time the night's over lol

i agree
i like how i can just keep refreshing this thread lol
