...And I'm not even kidding. I go to Sixth and it's constantly bashed by the rest of the colleges; I don't care. UCSD is better than I expected. The party scene is harder to find here than at most colleges, obviously, but it still exists. Just look a little harder. So far the people I hang out with have been pretty wonderful and I'm having a BLAST.

yea most ppl i know aren't big partyers but i'm generally finding ppl to be similar to me so i'm getting along with everyone quite well...definitely a lot better than i expected though. it's a lot less 'socially dead' than i expected

The party scene is just a little distanced from the campus, but if you're actually in sync, it's not hard to find the parties. ;)
Now that I think about it, I think I've been to a party every night except for last night because I didn't want to sleep in on the first day of school (and maybe some other night because I was tired).

Just chillax a bit and you won't hate life so much.

I would go to parties if they included martinis and men in suits talking about quantum physics or politics. As it is, I have no interest in seeing a bunch of disgusting, immature boys getting drunk off of second rate beer in plastic cups. No thanks.

The people I've met here so far are either clingy, stoners, or just plain immature.

I'm pretty sure there aren't any colleges that have parties with martinis and men in suits. You're an awfully optimistic person if you thought you could encounter that in college.

it's nice here and my dorm has a gorgeous oceanview. suitemates are decent although i don't think i'll end up being friends with them. i've met a lot of people. most i haven't seen again. a couple i think i could be friends with if we work at it as they are not from ERC.

i do know where everlasting is coming from but i also know it's the first week and people are just a bit more diffident than they would be normally. you just need to wait.

I'm gay and I'm pretty happy with the group of people I'm getting to know. Definitely get out there and join some clubs if you're not exactly meeting people you can get along with.

One of them is my roomie, some of them are from my high school, and some of them I met at my Christian fellowship, Intervarsity. I love all of the people I've met so far at IV, they're all really cool and very friendly and outgoing, and clean to boot! And yes, sobriety does not necessarily equate to maturity, but I didn't say they did - just that they happen to coexist within the people I hang out with.

All in all, UCSD has been better than I expected as well. The campus is much more lively and active than I assumed. The RIMAC is awesome. I've played some basketball there and everybody has been real cool and interested in what other students are studying.
