Hey, I am so happy I came across this website doing a google search. This website has given me a sense of hope sense I was deferred from MU. Looking back at deferral threads I read many racy topics with many racy replies. I came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to give up on my first choice. Many people from my SR. class has gotten deferred from their top choices, and arent doing anything about it but sitting and waiting until April 1st to hear a response. I didnt want to become that person, so I decided to do the following things:

Write a personal statement. MU doesnt require essays or personal statements but I feel like it gives the school insight into who you are and the person as well as the student that they are considering.

*Registered for ACT. My SAT scores we're a little low, especially my math and I couldnt bare the thought of actually taking it again so I decided to take the ACT which I am told is a little bit easier, and less frustrating than the SATs.

Extra recommendation letter.

Resend transcript after second marking period grades.

Scheduled campus visit.

I'll update you guys after April to see if this works, im hoping it will. Dont give up hope! When I received the letter a couple of days ago I wanted to give up all hope, but why? This site discussion board made me want to pick myself up and try again, hopefully Monmouth will recognize the fight in me.
