I made a HUGE spelling mistake! HELP?!

I am new to this forum and I am going mentally crazy because of the huge mistake I did on one of my personal statements. I wrote one of my personal statements on Word, and when I copied it all from word unto the official text box for my online application, I did not notice that some spelling became messed up. I cannot believe I did not notice it when spell checking everything on my online application, and would this count as major points against me? To be more specific, every quotation mark and apostrophe became a "a??" upon being pasted unto the online application, and this messed the legibility of this essay. There were 2 essays, but only one was affected like this, and my other one was completely fine. Will this count seriously against me? Please help I am seriously freaking out.

I think you should contact the school ASAP.

This happened on the UC app. Luckily, I caught the mistake but unfortunately, many did not. I’m sure even only the schools don’t allow you to change it, it won’t be that big of a deal since so many kids (at least, I presume) did. Good luck! And keep is posted

I did the same thing. you could try re-uploading the corrected version of the essay if its allowed. That’s what I did but idk if it’ll work out. ill probably contact my admissions counselor, you could do the same.
