I made a mistake on my common application. Will it ruin my chance? :(

under the universities&college section,
Have you ever taken any college courses since the biginning of 9th grae?
I put two college courses I am currently taking............OMG, I haven NOT TAKEN college courses. I am TAKING it.
Those two college courses are Public Speaking and AP Calculus BC. I, however, decided to not pay the tuition fot calculus class... So I am only taking one college course which is Public Speaking......

OMGGGGGGGGGG will they reject me because of this?

are you kidding?

I think this is a “breathe deeply” time. If the issue was only the “taking” rather than “taken”, I would not make any comment. But you listed that you were taking/had taken AP Calc BC and you are not – in this case, my thought would be to contact one admissions rep for one of your schools and email him/her about the mistake. Don’t make it dramatic like you did here – and don’t mention “taking vs taken.” Simply say something like “On my Common Application, I listed that I am taking two college courses - Public Speaking and AP Calculus BC. However, in hindsight, I am only auditing the Calculus class and not taking it for official credit. I wanted to let you know of this correction.”

Then see if the person writes back and what they say – based on this, you can decide if you want to send the same BRIEF email to the other colleges that you applied to. Because this mistake does change the courseload that you are taking, I think it might be worthwhile notifying them.

Doesn’t this section EXCLUDE ap courses?

I am pretty sure that question is asking about courses offered through actual universities. AP classes are not included in this question. I would do what momof2back2back mentioned about emailing the schools.
