I accidentally repeated a word back-to-back on my supplement essay. I did not know this until I pressed upload. Do you think I should send an email to the adcoms about it? Or would this be regarded as a minor error? The college I applied to is Wellesley College.

bump?
To be more specific, I said “students can freely explore and explore their genuine interests” … so I repeated the word “explore” :(

Good heavens, no!

It is what it is. You made a minor error, and you didn’t notice it until you’d sent your applications. Some readers may think, “I can’t believe Bananamilkplease wasn’t more careful,” some may be reading so fast that they don’t even notice, and some may notice but decide that it’s really not important. But an email now isn’t going to change any of that.

Definitely not.

It’s likely that the reader will miss the error – after all, they only spend a minute or so on your essay. It is what it is.
