As many of you know I've been working on appeals that are due today(Berkeley is flexible but UCLA is not). Well, I was working my ass off when my mom informed that because today is tax day mail pickup goes until midnight. So, I relaxed and took my time with the review and corrections. As it turns out my mom discovered at 4:45 that tomorrow was the pickup allowed till midnight thing. Even if I had it done at 4:45 last pickup was at five and I live more than 15 minutes from the post office. So, I didn't get it postmarked by today.
Am I screwed?

They might be a little lenient. But really, this isn't good -- they're giving you another chance, and you've (sorta) missed it. If they don't accept it, you can't blame them a whole lot.

It probably doesn't matter to much but it might not look good from a responsibility standpoint.

I wouldn't freak out, and believe it or not the post office is not perfect...I would not worry

can you go to Staples or something and send a fax?

i think they will still consider your appeal but they can't guarantee to give you a reply by may 1st.
