I messed up. I'm human. I need to transfer.

So, I'm a pretty decent student. My GPA was actually 3.2 which isn't bad, until I dunno stuff started going on in my life and I just stressed big time. My GPA is now 1.79. I know I can't believe myself but there's nothing I can do now and I really worked hard this semester so I'm hoping it exceeds a 2.0. I'm just waiting on my Spring semester grades.

I applied to cuny colleges in March, and was wondering what if my GPA falls short of a 2.0? what if gets up to like 1.8 something or 1.9 something? do you think colleges would consider accepting me? I want to transfer so bad, and turn my life around. I'm not going to let stress get to my brain anymore and I really need to get out of the Community college I currently attend. I'm not a bad student, and I started out at this college because of financial problems. It was just that one semester that screwed me up where I failed multiple courses.

I signed up to take for 3 english courses during the summer which I know will be easy A's since my strongest subject is English and I know if my GPA doesn't exceed a 2.0 this semester, it will surely shoot up after the Summer semester. My problem is, I don't know whether the colleges will be looking at my Spring semester grades or wait until I finish summer? I'm hoping they wait until after Summer when my GPA is much higher. But, there are no guarantees and I'm freaking out. I want to transfer out so bad and get on with my life. If by GPA fails to exceed a 2.0 and the colleges look at my Spring semester grades, and fail to accept me, would they let me reapply after my Summer session grades are issued? I don't know. I wish I had the answers. :</p>

A lot of the CUNY and SUNY schools have open admissions for kids as long as they are not in a degree program. If you are not accepted to a degree program, you can register as a full time student as a non degree program and then apply to such a program when you have shown you can do the work well.

Writemealetter – why don’t you give the SUNY admissions office a call and ask? This is a relatively quiet time of the year. cptofthehouse has a good suggestion about the nondegree courses.

Good luck!
