I messed up, need some help.

I didn't study for the sats IIs USH after I took ap USH. Now I ended up with 640 (i know that I can get in the 700s since I got a 5 on the ap) on the sat IIs!!! I also ended up with a 660 on the sat bio E. Now heres my question, I was going to ED NYU, but now my sat 2s will probably drag me down. So should I retake the sats II and not ED or ED and not take the Sat IIs?

I currently have a 2090 (i think) on my sat I so I'm going to retake that and raise it to at least 21k, therefore I can't take the 2s in oct.

This is really making depress, please help I can't decide. I know that NYU acceptance rate for RD is like 29% and ED is like 2% higher, so is it smart to apply ED with my current sats2? Is the 2% worth it?

Chill out, you have time, there's nothing to freak out about. If it is that much of a concern to you and you KNOW you can do better, then retake them. Can't you take them in August or September, etc???

And ED is a little higher than 2% more, but it changes every year b/c w/ ED the schools don't have a limit on how many to accept, but they do with RD.

Unless my area is weird, if you're taking the SAT in October, there is an alternate test date for taking the SAT IIs. While some of my friends took the SAT II in early October last year, I took the SAT. A month later I took the SAT II with a bunch of other students who did the same thing.

Best thing to do- call NYU and talk to a rep. about what the best decision for you, as an applicant, would be to make.

I dont think it's worth it to retake the SAT, just redo your SAT IIs. there's no point trying to raise that score at least 10points, and it's already very strong.

getting in ED is easy, unless its stern.

...or tisch...or cas...or any school except gsp

awww that hurts man

If you're a foreigner and know another language besides English, take one of them SAT II language tests. I took Korean, and all I gotta say is, easy 800

And what was your percentile, Supa-Mat? ;) A bit above 50%?

haha lol

Korean - 800 (around 60%)
Chinese - 800 (around 30%)
Japanese - 800 (around 80%)

say, what do these numbers tell :D?

Can you explain what you mean? Do you mean that there are 2 testing dates in october? One for the sat 1 and an alternate for the sat 2? I'm probably misunderstanding, but I don't think there are other alternative testing days where I can take both the sat 1 and 2 on the same month...but is there (i don't think so)?

BTW the deadline for ED is Nov 1, so its not possible for me to take both sat 1 and 2 before the deadline right?

Thx in advance

I don't remember a lot of the details (sorry!), but I know that there was a separate and alternate test date for people who wanted to take the SAT II but also needed to take the SAT in October. Call the College Board and ask them.

Also, I took the SAT II's at the end of October and used them in my ED application. You just have to send them directly to the school. There's even a possibility you might not get your October SAT score back before November 1.

6-rings, if the deadline is Nov 1...then why are you taking the october test? They won't get the results until December of January anyways....

I'm pretty sure your SAT has to be in before the deadline. At least last year when I talked to someone at admissions about that, that's what I remember them telling me.

lindseygs, I'm pretty sure that they send the results out in less then 1 month? Can anyone confirm this?

I went to the collegeboard website and found this

Even though I not any religion where I can't take the test on sunday, can I take it anyway on saturday and sunday? I'm so desperate right now.

It may be three weeks, but I think it's usually more than a month. That may just be for test results mailed to you, though. CALL NYU!!!

What should I ask NYU, If the best option for me is not to ed? thx lindseygs

no, ask about the sat schedule first and about when to take it and the latest they will recieve scores, etc. then ask if you should retake your sat 2s or the sat, which they put more weight on (probably sat, but your sat isn't bad at all). then you should decide whether ed or reg, b/c that is the exact same thing they are going to tell you. it's all about how you feel about the application process...and so on and so forth...

aww damn it, they said theres only one test date a month...

drgroob what area do you live in since you can take both? Do you live in the US?

I live in the Cincinnati area.
