I messed up on a SAT II

I messed up on a Sat II (700 on physics) will this hurt me from getting into universities like Georgetown? However, I think I got a 5 on the Physics 1 AP exam

Will this hurt you: Yes
AP scores are generally irrelevant in terms of admissions.
Will this one score hurt you in a substantial way: No
You should just start working on your essays for Georgetown. Those matter much more than a 700 on a subject test.

@rdeng2614 “AP scores are generally irrelevant in terms of admissions.”

Uhhh…Harvard admissions staff say that AP/IB scores are crucial for determining competency and are essential to the application.

Oh, I did not know that. Thanks for the clarification.

Depends on the school. See what they require.

Should I take another SAT II? I all ready took bio (670, freshmen year) physics (700) and US history (780) Im thinking about taking math 2 (will have to do more studying) or World History (Took class 2 years ago but I remember most of it). I don’t really want to take another but if it will increase my chances of admission should I take one? and i didn’t do what i expected on the AP (for physics)

I think Math 2 is a recommended subject test for most schools, so if you had to take one, I would suggest you take that one. Bio and Physics only retake it if you know you can do much better, but if you get a good score on Math 2, then coupled with a 780 USH, you are basically set. Most schools only take the 2 highest subject tests anyway.

I completely agree with @rdeng2614. I think the 780 in USH is great, but I would try to take Math 2 or take another science subject test again. If they really matter in the application then I would re-take or take another. Some schools weigh them more heavily than others.

Is taking world history a waste of a test? Will 2 history tests be a waste of time?

No.

My Asian “female friend” got a 650 on the SAT 2 Chemistry. She is about to be a freshman studying biochemistry at Princeton.
