I decided to take IB Biology since I took regular Biology my 10th grade year in an attempt to get less homework...
IB Biology has messed my GPA up SO bad.

1st nine weeks:B
2nd nine weeks: D
Semester Test: D
3rd nine weeks: F (supposed to be a D)

Yeah....it's THAT bad.

We have a test on average every week with about 3 days to study...on top of all the homework I have to do and other tests I have to study for.
He doesn't tell us the highlights of the test and instead tells us to "read the chapter(s)" as if we have time to read a chapter that averages 15 pages or more.
I am one of 4 IB students in a class full of AP kids so sometimes we have 2 or 3 tests in one day, while the AP kids have just one test to take.

I know this is really going to hurt me come college admissions time.

I plan to take the SAT Subject test in Biology and take the AP Biology exam next year since my IB advisor didn't get me on the list to take it this year. I already have the AP Biology prep book so that should help.

I plan to go to: Vanderbilt
Macalester
Wesleyan
Hendrix (if I get rejected from all three)

I am in the top 10% of my class, when I graduate I'll have a 3.8 or 3.9, I have good extra curriculars, I work, I have a good ACT score, I'm going to Governor's School and I'm a minority.

It still sucks that I have that HUGE stain on my record.

I plan to take:
Probability and Statistics (my school isn't offering the AP course but I plan to take the AP exam on it)
IB History of the America's II
IB Psychology II
Pre-AP Chemistry
IB Math Studies
Spanish IV
IB English IV or whatever
Peer Leadership II (Mentoring program)

So, will making As and Bs in these courses help offset that stain?
