I might be accepted by mistake...

I decided around the January deadline that I would not be applying to Cornell. I did not even send in the supplement but I had sent them my CommonApp. I have also not made the application payment. Of course this prompted adcomms to send me emails about my missing supplement, but I ignored them thinking they would remove me from their applicant pool in time. Now I get an email with my pin and password for a decision notification, and when I logged in, it says my application was submitted with a filled in red square (suggesting it's complete). So... I'll be getting a decision to a college I didn't apply to come April 1st?

I guess you would just be rejected?(sorry to put it this bluntly) Colleges are always looking to work their acceptance rates down, as a result they just regard every half-application as another way to work that rate down

if it was incomplete it would have a half filled box…i suppose…

considering for a minute what dualspace said is not true, which in all likeliness it is true, maybe they just accepted you accidentally and u got in… you dont have to tell anyone about it and just sail through cornell for 4 years…

sorry i couldn’t stop myself.

I am pretty certain that they wouldn’t accept you if you haven’t turned in a supplement and payment.

When I applied ED back in November, the system said my application was complete and had been sent on to the adcomm, but they never actually got my subject test scores (found that out in february…that was fun). Anyway, I got deferred because of the missing scores, so I assume that they will just disregard your application and “reject” you since you didn’t submit it fully. No need to be concerned.

Aaaah noo! I’m just helping Cornell look more selective for next year!

HAHAHAHAHA
This is awesome.

I’m sort of in the same boat here haha
but it kind of sucks… I thought I had everything completed
I finished the supplement and paid and everything…but I’m an idiot, I didn’t realize sat 2’s were required…I never took them lol
so I guess my application is incomplete or whatever…but I received the admission decision email too!
Maybe I still have a chance haha everything else is good I think
If not it’s whatever, I just left it as is because I had other colleges I want to go to as well so I won’t be too devastated if I get rejected hahaha

my friend did the same thing for hopkins, didnt complete the application, got a rejected decision.

Dillion Jay, what schools did you apply for? Not all of them, CALS for example, require SAT IIs. I do know however, that CAS does.

My son submitted his name, address, and scores (not sent by college board) to Columbia and received two phone calls for an interview. He was admitted early decision to Cornell and in April he was denied admission to Columbia.

admitted early decision? arent you obligated to attend then?
