Well, it's 5am here and I'm still awake. I'm not tired.
Last night I shut down my computer at 4:30. I couldn't fall asleep for 45 minutes.
I'm sleeping till like 1pm--when my mom wakes me up! Who knows how late I'd be sleeping were I not woken up.

What do I DO???

This problem sort of started cropping up midway through the first semester. It's fine and dandy during winter break, but obviously this sort of a schedule does not jibe with AP Calc BC at 7:30 AM (yikes...). I'm just not tired till really late. IDK. I'm pretty sure my sleep cycle is off.... Circadian rhythms and melatonin secretion and that sort of thing.

Commiserate-rs? Any takers? (ooh, I'm clever--a rhyme!!!)

I just had a terrible thought--some of you East Coasters are probably already awake!!! :(

It’s a pretty simple problem to solve, really. Adjusting your sleeping habits is a lot like adjusting to jet lag. Imagine yourself moving to the east coast. You need to sleep 3 hours earlier than you normally do, so you’ll have to adjust by sleeping at say, 12 AM while your body thinks it’s 9 PM. Go to bed at 2 AM first, then 1 AM and then 12 AM. The night before, try not to get too much sleep and exercise as much as you can. You still have time before school starts, right?

I got my wisdom teeth out a week and a half ago and have not been allowed to do strenuous exercise, so maybe once I can go to the gym again it might help.

I guess I’ll just try to go to bed earlier and turn off the computer??? I dunno haha it’s just sort of frustrating because I don’t feel at all tired…

How is that the opposite problem? To me it sounds like you were sleeping for like 24 hours… I think I’m missing something. Did you mean wake up at 6 am?

I have a similar problem. I try to go to sleep at ~3 on most nights, but it takes me around half an hour to actually fall asleep. Sleep 'til 2 in the afternoon and my mom gets mad. I don’t know how I’ll survive when school starts up again.
