I want to know what the difference is between doing a double major and a major with a minor. I know for sure I want to be a biology major but I'm not sure if I want to do psychology.

So here are my questions:
1. What's the difference is between doing a double major and a major with a minor?
2. If I major or minor in Psychology would I be able to drop it and just do a single major in Biology?
3. Are there any benefits in doing double major or doing a minor besides more knowledge?

The difference between a major and a minor is the # of classes required. To answer your three questions:

1) The difference between a double major and a major and a minor depends on the university and the major. In your case, Psychology. A minor Psychology probably requires the typical pre-requisite courses (3 or 4 of them) that you would have to take if you were to major in psychology plus an additional 4 or 5 classes (as opposed to 8-9 classes if you were to major in psych).

2) Since you are definitely majoring in Biology, you can obviously discontinue whatever plans you have in Psychology and still graduate, assuming you fullfill all the requirements of the college.

3) All benefits of a double major are personal. Nobody else is going to care that you double majnored or minored in Psychology.

But it could help for other double majors like Economics and Maths or Government and Law etc.

Im curious- why do you want to do both Bio and Psyc?

I've been interested in Psychology and wanted to explore a little.

ahhhh. Cool! Have fun!

major and minor or double major shows you made the most of college and may make you more attractive to employers.
