I might try self studying ...

Next year (my senior year) I'm thinking about maybe self studying one class. I think I might self study AP Euro, but does anyone else have any suggestions for perhaps an easier one?

I'm going to be taking (along with the self study)

AP Psych.
AP Environmental Science
AP Lit
AP Calc BC

along with a few other easy classes.

AP Euro is not an advisable class to self-study for. Personally, as I am enrolled in the class (sophomore) now, it is a lot of memorization/work and the class really prepares you in getting the writing portion of it down. But, the class isn’t impossible, but I feel like taking the course basically forces you to read, memorize, and write, which is really helpful for the actual AP test.
But, it’s very interesting and surely doable if you can commit yourself and follow a very strict schedule.
If possible, self-study AP Psych/Environmental and take AP Euro! :)

AP Gov? AP Psych would be the best one to self-study, though.

Here’s my thoughts:

I’m taking APUSH right now - it is a piece of cake. I love it, and I think that I could succeed without even taking the class. I just enjoy reading about history!

Psychology – I’ve heard that the teacher is really good. And also, aren’t you supposed to take Psychology as a class? I would imagine that would be tough to self study since you don’t have any hands on experience or communication between your peers (which psychology is about, isn’t it?!)

AP Environmental Science – By next year, I will have already taken AP Bio and AP Chemistry, so this should be a piece of cake.

I just think that AP Euro would be the most logical one because I already love history and it doesn’t seem like it would be much work other than to read and understand the book…

I’m in AP Psych right now, all u need is the concepts and vocab. “Lab” experiments aren’t important at all. It’s a social science, not a natural science. AP Psych is not teaching you how to turn into Dr Phil or something; that’s one thing a lot of people don’t understand.

Like FutureVpFinance stated, AP Psych is a college-leveled introductory course, you basically learn concepts, and learn how they’re applied in the world, but not necessarily put them to use yourself. However, it is an easy course, although, it might depend on your given instructor.

Has anyone self studied AP Euro here? Or taken the class and could give some thoughts about how hard the test is?

for AP Euro I think that as long as you get the info from reading and have good supplements (ie. MEH and Crash Course) you’ll be fine. Unless you don’t know the FRQ/DBQ format for Euro, which APUSH probably covers.
euro just takes a long time to cover, I would recommend starting soon.

I’m taking it next year … so i don’t need an year in advance do I? o.O

for euro? no… that could be a waste of time.
unless u have real bad trouble in memorizing like 15 henries.

okay cool. do you think i should ask my school teacher for a copy of their ap euro book?

or should I just buy some study guide books on my own?

well, if you have MEH and/or Crash course, you’ll be fine without a textbook.
i only look at my textbook for my outlines.
everything else i study off MEH

MEH = ?

Could we like keep in contact (are you a junior or senior?) so that you can perhaps help me next year in preparing for the self studying and exam?

I’m a sophomore. AP Euro at our school is only for sophomores
MEH = Modern European History
i’m using it right now in my class and it helps a lot.

i looked up MEH and it seems like it’s not even designed for the AP test, is it?

can you message me your email or something so we can keep in contact?
