I chose a college to attend this fall, the University of Puget Sound, a great school, but I'm already nervous that I made the wrong choice and this college might not be for me, partly because I grew up in the Tacoma area and was kind of wanting a change. I was choosing between UPS, University of Washington (for which I somehow recieved a tuition exemption) and Stony Brook University on Long Island, NY where I was also accepted and offered a scholarship. UPS offered me a crapload of scholarship/financial aid making it cost around the same as these other two options. I'm just wondering, if I found that I really wanted to transfer to one of these other schools next year, would the fact that I was previously accepted to these other colleges matter? And would there be a good chance of receiving scholarships? Would I be at all likely to receive the same aid I was offered this year if I chose to attend next year after attending a different school? Man, I hope that makes sense, if anyone could give any sort of insight on transferring it would be greatly appreciated!

As long as your grades in college were good you should have similar acceptances since you were qualified as a freshman. Sadly, transfer financial aid is often much less than what freshman receive. Also most colleges do not give out merit scholarships to transfers so most of your money that you received as a freshman applicant will most likely be gone. I am unsure of much money both of those schools have for transfers but the aid you would receive would likely only be need based.

Yeah if your college grades are great then you have nothing to worry about. Apply for financial aid if you need it! Choose the school you like best. Research about what they offer before choosing and maybe even visit them. Make a list of the pros and cons of each college you got accepted into. Then make a choice from there. If there is no way to go back from your choice, then i must say UPS is a very great school. So you have nothing to worry about.
