I missed the freaking first day of class!!!!

For a stupid accident, I missed the first day of class. I only have one class and screw the attendance on the first day. So on the day that class start, I ask my boss for permission to go home early that evening. I run home got my book bag ready and phone put them in my car. Then, run to the house get dress. Decided to take my dog out to potty before going. Look at the clock and still have plenty of time. Unfortunately, his collar got rip off and so I thought maybe I should sew it together since I still have half an hr before class start. Went to my mom room since she usually place her sewing kit there. Door was locked, I use my keys to open it. Then, throw my keys on her bed. Got the kit out and guess what? Accidentally locked the freaking door on the way out. When I got done sewing, it was time to go. My keys is locked in my mom room, including my car key in it. I can’t drive and don’t have a spare key in my house. My phone is in my car!!! Which I can’t get to the car. The only way is to wait for my mom to come home and open the door. When she do, class is already done. But I have an IPad and try to email my professor about the situation. Praying that she won’t kicked me out of class. Hoping the situation wouldn’t turn out so bad since have took one of her class last year as well. So this is a round two for me. So do you think she going to kicked me out? I sent her a bunch of emails by the way.

I do not think you will get kicked out. Maybe next time only send one email though.

I would guess that it’s not too big of a deal, especially if you’ve had the professor in the past. Most college classes see new students every lecture up until the add/drop deadline.

I’ve never in my life heard of a professor caring so much about attendance as to kick someone out of class lol, especially if this is the only time you’ve done so. You’re fine dude. Just double check if attendance is part of your grade or not. And yes, next time please send only 1 email to your professor explaining your situation concisely.

I’d kick you out for sending multiple emails. One is enough.

If you are in university, the professor is likely not to care  I knew a guy that basically showed up to different classes every day and he wasn’t dropped from the classes he was actually registered in. If this was community college though where there is often overcrowding, I’ve found that professors will often drop any no shows on the first day. If you’ve also had this professor in the past, I think you’re going to be fine as well.

Go immediately to each professor of the class you missed and tell them what happened. Tell them that normally you would ask a classmate for notes/info but you don’t know anyone in the class yet.
See if there are copies of the syllabus on line and print those out.
