I know I was a total idiot for submitting my apps late but I just had to take care of some things in my life. I know that UCs do not expect late apps for freshmen apps but is that the same for transfer apps? I know we have to update it on beginnig of Jan so Im just hoping that they will still consider my apps. I currently go to UCSC and trying to transfer to UCLA, UCSD, UCB, UCD or UCSB. Can anyone help me out here?

You should call the admissions offices and ask them.

I submitted late, too...there was a "grace period"...when did you submit? If it accepted your app, you're probably okay. I e-mailed admissions on December 1st and called the UC line to see what the deal was...they said I was okay, but then I got this e-mail from UCLA and a similar one from SB...

"Due to the large number of applications for admission that UCLA receives, we do not accept applications postmarked after the filing deadline. Occasionally exceptions are made, but only under rare circumstances. If you did miss the deadline for submitting an application for admission and wish to request permission to submit a late application, you need to submit a request in writing indicating your name and social security number, and explaining the circumstances that prevented you from applying during the filing period. You can mail the letter to:
Undergraduate Admissions
Attn: Late Application Request
1147 Murphy Hall
Box 951436
Los Angeles, CA 90095-1436
or you can fax it to 310-206-1206. You will receive a response to your appeal approximately two to three weeks from the date we receive it. Filing the appeal does not guarantee your request will be granted.

So then I called UCLA and asked if the "grace period" was something the school honored and if it was looked down upon if we submitted w/in this time frame...again, I was told that I was fine, so you probably don't need to stress.

Kizz,

Are you a transfer student or a incoming freshmen?

Also, I didnt know there was a grace period...how long is it?

I'm a transfer...I'm not sure how long they continued to accept apps after the deadline, and I got the vibe that it wasn't something they wanted to advertise...when I called, they kind of just let me ramble and panic for a minute, then finally said if I got it in by the morning of the 1st, it would go through just fine...the whole thing was a bit vague, but I'm sure if you called and asked for details they would tell you if you're screwed or not. Worst case scenario, try to appeal it at each school...It's worth a shot?

I applied to UCSD as a freshman two years ago and I sent it to UCSD on the last day (November 30th) and I got accepted. I looked on my application and it says that I sent it on 11/30/2006, 12:19 am. How late were you?

^ how is 11/30 at 12:19 AM late?

12:19AM is just the start of 11/30

Unless by some odd weird system error it is meant to say 12/1 12:19Am but logged improperly by the UC system.

Ditto what Malishka said. I think the OP submitted his on October 1 at 12:19 AM (or something like that). I would guess that if you had yours in before the school opened up on Oct 1 then you're probably okay but I'd just call anonymously and ask. I don't think they really separate people out for applying a little bit late.

FYI...

Hello,

The application filing period deadline for Fall 2009 was extended to December 1st at 11:59 PM PST.

HI,i would like to know when can we have the response of being accpeted or not? are all the campus giving response differently or there’s a centain date?

Hi, I know I should’ve given myself more time but but I was at a ASG leadership conference and just wanted to review my app to turn in. I was logged in tonite and got to submit but it kept popping up a notice i had not possibly updated current classes which was annoying. By the time I read the pop up and closed it, scrolled back to submit it said it was too late. I am freaking out to say the least because I have already been stuck at community college because of changes in GPA requirements and budget cuts to get classes I need. Please tell me I can call someone, they can look and see I was logged in and trying to submit…please because I can’t wait another year…

omg who bumped this up. ■■ me big time seriously, i thought i missed the application deadline for this year. check back 2008 oh nvm

WOW really bumped this though.
