I need a good grammar book for SAT's writing section !

Hi,

Could you please recommend me a good grammar book which contains all the grammar I need for SAT writing section?I wanna add that English isn't my first language and so idioms, prepositions dont come easily to me.

Thanks !

I would suggest getting the CliffsNotes grammar book but I don't know..

dont worry man, many peolel with english as first language dont get idioms and prepositions.. I think Rocket Review is pretty good for writing

I personally liked Princeton Review's Grammar Smart. It is easy to understand, and doesn't involve many complicated grammatical terms. It also has idiom lists.

Thanks a lot !I will look into the books you guys just mentioned.Beside them I would like to find a good grammar book that is not necessarily for SAT but contains all grammar.I think the SAT books are pretty abridged on grammar and mostly tailored for americans.
Anyone?
Thanks again !

Grammar Smart is not specifically for the SAT. I don't think Cliffnotes's one is either.

Try Gruber's. I've heard that it has a huge grammar section that includes grammar on the SAT as well as grammar that isn't.

Yea, Gruber's has 50+ pages on grammar. It looks pretty thorough.

Plus, Gruber's also has an amazing math section as well (which, like the grammar section, covers math both on the SAT and math that isn't on it).

Thanks a lot !:)

can anybody give some feedback on the gruber's writing section?

What does everyone think about Elements of Style? I've flipped through it and it seems like it covers a majority of what needs to be known for the test.

The Elements of Style is a good and brief book. It is essential for college freshman, and it can help for the SAT. But I find it less easy to understand as Grammar Smart. You might as well get the book, but don't use it as your sole source for learning SAT grammar.
