So i have about what 10 or so days to decide (would rather make a decision soon). I am debating between U of washington and LMU for business. UW i am not in the b-school yet, lmu i am. i am also from washington. $ is not an issue.

thanks a bunch! make my decision easier yay!

Huskies..i did a little 1 v 1 between LMU and my other top choice
here's what i got for LMU's best attributes:
-'up and coming georgetown of the west'
-Mid size 5800ug + 3200g students
-Private/Catholic
-Decent sports scene
-fun student activities
-close knit campus...you'll meet alot of people
-friendly, outgoing students
-great academic programs
-very culturally diverse student body
-downtown LA - everything you could ask for
+beaches, sports, entertainment, hollywood, etc
-LMU ranked in top 10 most beautiful campuses
-LA has great intern oppertunities
-Warm, sunny weather year round
-All new/newly renovated buildings on campus
-BRAND new library for 2009
-good food/dorms
- A good name to have during your job search

this is what i've taken from lmu. These are most of the reasons why I think its the best choice for me. what do you think?

hatrick- agree with everything you have listed except for the downtown la part. lmu is on the westside. it's closer to marina and play del rey as well as lax

superb list! Thank you so much. I am leaning toward LMU which i am excited about because it is oos and a good way for me to spread my wings, ya know?

something i am worried about is getting around and what there is to do. Ih ave heard going to usc fb games is huge for lmu students which i would enjoy greatly! offer up anything else. thanks

yeah USC football is sick. but ive been thinking about that too, and if you want to spend money theres always nightclubs, movie premiers, bars and the whole downtown scene not to far away. (i'm bringing my car second semester, after i familiarize with the whole area n whatnot)
but if you want to have a goodtime without denting your wallet theres always the beach and santa monica right there. i mean cummon though LA is where its at. I work at this mall in MA where there filming a new kevin james film (Mall Cop) and a father of one of the lead rolls was in the store and was telling me that LA is the place to be for everything. He was like yeah anything you could ever want is at your fingertips and that there was so much to do. So i was just like SICK man i cant wait to get out there. So thats my two cents, and to add i'm going out to LMU tomorow and i can't wait.

thanks a lot hatrick! ya man, USC football is where its at. using another school for their fb team sounds good to me lol. Ya my main concern (which is not at all a huge one) is getting off the hill that LMU is located on transportation wise if you dont know many people with a car. Will a bus come up to campus and take us places, etc.

Busses exist in So Cal, but they take forever. Public transportation is not spectacular. I live a few miles away from LMU and UCLA is about 15 miles from my house. USC is about 13 miles. I know a young lady who took the bus each way to UCLA each day, and the trip was 60-90 minutes. Each way.

If you are thinking about going to USC football games, best to grab a ride with a friend. I went to USC. Honestly, riding the bus in that direction is sketchy. There is a metro rail stop near the airport and in my town, but it is park and ride.

Also - getting tickets for USC games doesn't come cheap. Do you have a friend that has tickets, or is a student that could get you in the games?

The beach is just a few minutes away, the mountains a couple of hours away. Going to Westwood near UCLA is fun, but you probably won't have time every weekend for it. We also have that little thing they call...traffic. It is LA. You may see a movie star here and there, but more than likely you will see the back of somebody's car, while sitting on the freeway! I grew up in the area, and could count on one hand how many star sightings I have seen. The movie/tv studios film in my son's high school all the time, too.

Good luck making your decision! I would definitely think about a car though, if that is possible.

ya actually its kind of perfect. my friend who is also attending has a big sis at USC grad school who is the athletic trainer for the trojans fb. thehe! thanks for the info. much, much more is welcome!

I completely agree with everything said...LMU is a great school and has a lot to offer. And if you don't have a car I guarantee that almost everyone else you know will have one.

But you should commit to LMU. It seems like you have already made up your mind, and you are just looking for confirmation. Good Luck at LMU!
