I'm almost done my undergraduate psychology major studies and have no idea where to look for Grad school. I definatly want to continue my studies with psychology, but focus more on child development or psychopathology or maybe even clinical, but focusing on children. Does anyone know of any good schools that offer any of these programs? Or, would it be a smart move to get just a counseling license and forget grad school? I'm not exactly sure what I want to do yet, but I definatly know I want to work with counseling children.

Depending on your state you’ll probably need a master’s in counseling and 2000 hours of supervision to get your license, so it’s not a small feat.

You should have a major advisor at your current UG school. That person is who you should ask these questions. He or she knows you (at least better than anyone on CC) and knows the field.

You might also have a talk with the career services department at your UG. There are a lot of career options and they can help you discover and research them. Counseling, school counseling, special education, social work, nursing…there are a ton of ways you could work with counseling children.
